FUN FEST 2009

AUGUST 7th, 8th and 9th, 2009

Immaculate Conception Fun Fest is an annual event that brings together the entire community to celebrate the spirit of Immaculate Conception Parish and School. The success of our largest yearly fundraiser is due in no small part to our valuable volunteers. Literally hundreds of men, women, youth, children and staff members work extremely hard to guarantee this successful fundraiser. As you may already know, our Parish was established in here Columbia Heights in 1923 and the school opened in 1939. Our fall fundraiser began in the late 50’s as the ‘Fall Festival’ and has grown every year since. We consistently draw large crowds from the surrounding area with gross receipts from last year totaling nearly $88,000.00. Our schools’ past alumni list contains many successful individuals: Senator Larry Pogemiller, Anoka County Commissioner Jim Kordiak, film maker Pat Proft, auto dealer Jim Lupient and restaurateur Orest Kramarczuk. We’ve also been blessed by the generosity of the late Rose Totino.

Our Fun Fest includes great food and drink, fabulous live music and entertainment, first-class silent auction, bingo, pull-tabs, raffles and more than a few surprises. Information regarding all Fun Fest events will be published on a regular basis in the church bulletin and on our web site (www.immac-church.org) Leading up to the event, we will also utilize local neighborhood newspapers, community billboards and flyers distributed to local churches and area businesses.

Sponsorship from companies, organizations and individuals total more than $17,000 annually. These sponsorships pay for entertainment, food, tents, trailers, and other operating costs. The 2008 sponsors are listed below, along with the area they sponsored. Please patronize these businesses and thank the individuals for their continued support of IC. The Silent Auction generated more than $17,000 from donated items, including baskets, certificates, services and dinners. After expenses, the General Raffle and Pull-Tabs totaled more than $22,000. Fun Fest 2008 generated more than $58,000 in support of our Parish and the Fr. Tom Raffle raised an additional $3,200 for our school. Mark your calendar and…’we’ll see you at Fun Fest’
