Congratulations, Sister Nancy!
-Recipient of the Fox 9 Top Teacher Award
FOX 9 and M&I Bank are giving deserving teachers the chance to be recognized for their outstanding performance in the classroom with the 2009 Top Teacher Awards. All of us know a truly great teacher an educator who taught more than what was in the textbooks, and instead brought learning to life inside and outside the classroom. These teachers have made an impact on our lives that extends from the schools to the community in which we live. Its because of teachers like this that FOX 9 and M&I Bank present the fifth annual Top Teacher Awards.

Sister Nancy Kinsley was one of nine Twin Cities teachers to receive the Fox 9 teacher of the year award. She was nominated by Jane Lasser (pictured above with Sister Nancy), grandmother of an ICS 7th grade student.

School staff, students, parents, and even some ICS alumni gathered in the gymnasium on April 8th to surprise Sister Nancy, along with Jeff Passolt of Fox 9 News.

In addition to her "Apple" award, Sister Nancy received a $900 check from FOX 9 and M & I Bank to be used for her classroom, as well as a party for 100 people, courtesy of Subway.
